I have over a decade of experience in the Australian film industry in the camera department, building hands-on experience across everything from feature films to music videos. Studying film at university, I focused on cinematography and directing, learning how to move the camera with purpose and tell stories through visuals.
When I discovered FPV drones, it brought together two of my biggest passions; film-making and flight. The crossover was exciting, combining creative framing, timing and motion with the freedom to move through space in ways that traditional cameras can't. It felt like unlocking a new layer of camera movement – one that made the shot itself part of the experience.
That's why The Buzz Biz was born; to turn smooth, dynamic fly-throughs into immersive cinematic tools that help people see a space differently – not just as it is, but as it feels.
A Day on Set to a Day in the Sky
My experience in the film industry gave me a deep appreciation for what goes into creating high-quality cinematic visuals. Working closely with other directors and cinematographers sharpened my eye for composition, movement and visual balance. It taught me how to operate the camera in ways that elevate the look of each shot using motion, angles and timing to bring out the best in a space or subject.
Flying FPV drones brought a whole new dimension to that craft – it's still about visual precision, just with more freedom (and a bit more adrenaline). I love finding rhythm in movement, whether it's a slow drift through a hallway or threading the drone through a tight window. Every flight feels like a choreographed dance with the space, and getting it just right is the feeling that keeps me coming back.
